Chelsea 2 – 1 West Ham – Antonio Conte had Diego Costa to thank for his first EPL win as Chelsea beat West Ham by 2 goals to 1 at the Stamford Bridge.

Eden Hazard gave Chelsea the lead in a first half the Blues easily dominated, as the Hammers lost new signing Andre Ayew to injury. West Ham however equalized against the odds in the 77th minute when a Dimitri Payet corner was turned in by James Collins.

Chelsea however continued to dominate, and in the 89th minute, Costa fired in from outside the box to give the Blues a win on their first game of the season.

West Ham handed debuts to new signings Ayew, Arthur Masuaku and Havard Nordtveit, while former Leicester City player N’Golo Kante was the only new signing to start for Chelsea.
