Newly-promoted Burnley are on the verge of a signing, with manager Sean Dyche saying positive noises are being made regarding Belgium midfielder Steven Defour.
Earlier this week, Anderlecht said they had agreed to sell Defour to the Clarets and he’s expected in the North West for a medical.
Defour has been looking to quit his homeland over abuse from rival fans and hoped to get a glamour move.
However Burnley stuck at it and Defour has sorted out a deal that will see him join in time for the Liverpool game next Saturday.
The ex-Old Trafford chief was later revealed to have sent the midfielder a heartfelt letter wishing him a speedy recovery.
He said: “Dear Steven, I have just heard about your injury and, in the name of Manchester United, I would like to wish you a full and speedy recovery.
“I am sure at the moment you must be feeling awful and that you’ll have all kinds of questions.
