Wolves are closing on the sensational signing of Benfica legend Luisao, reports the Daily Mail.
The 35-year-old defender has held talks over the move to Molineux and the deal, which would be a coup for the Sky Bet Championship club, is reportedly close to completion.
Capped 44 times by Brazil, Luisao has won five Portuguese titles during a glittering 13-year spell in Lisbon.
The Championship club have already signed three players from the club
Sports paper OJOGO featured the 35-year-old on Tuesday’s front page with the headline: ‘Luisao says goodbye to the light,’ in reference to the club’s stadium.
Wolves also remain in discussions over a deal for Benfica’s Brazilian midfielder Talisca too and would be willing to offer compatriot Luisao a two year deal.
Helder Costa and Joao Teixeira have both already joined Wolves from Benfica on loan this summer while Silvio joined from Atletico Madrid having spent last season with the Portuguese side.
