Barcelona forward Sergi Samper could head to Valencia as part of La Liga champions’ bid to sign striker Paco Alcacer, reports Sport.
In Alcacer Barca have finally look to have found the man to provide back-up for Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, and they are closing in on a deal for the Valencia hitman.
Valencia have requested a sizeable fee for the Spaniard, a fee which would exceed the €24m (£20.7m) Barca had set aside to sign a new forward.
However, Barcelona could look to lower the fee by using Sergi Samper as a makeweight in the deal. The midfielder, who had been on Valencia’s radar, could now head to the Mestalla on loan.
Valencia have also requested the inclusion of Barca striker Munir El Haddadi in the deal, but that is unlikely to happen at the moment.
