AS Roma have signed defender Bruno Peres on loan from Serie A rivals Torino with an option to eventually make the move permanent for a fee of 12.5 million euros.
The 26-year-old joined Torino in 2014 from Brazilian club Santos. He made 31 league appearances last season, scoring three goals.
“The agreement with Torino for the defender is for an initial €1 million loan, with an obligation to make the transfer permanent – depending on the completion of certain performance targets – for a fee of €12.5m.
“The transfer deal includes clauses for an additional bonus payment, up to a maximum of €1.5m, if the club and the player reach certain sporting objectives.”
“I’m absolutely delighted to start this new challenge,” Peres told the club website on Tuesday.
“I can’t wait to meet my new team-mates and show the coach what I can do. In the meantime, I’ll cheer the guys on from my living room tomorrow night. Forza Roma!”
