Arsenal’s Serge Gnabry will join Bayern Munich permanently before spending the rest of this season on loan at Werder Bremen, according to Sky Germany.
Gnabry, 21, impressed at the Olympic Games this summer scoring six goals to help Germany to the final, which they lost to host Brazil.
But he has fallen out of favour at Arsenal, where he has made only 18 appearances, and following an unsuccessful loan at West Brom last season, looks set to return to Germany.
However, Gnabry has long been regarded as a promising talent, and Bayern clearly feel it is worth taking a gamble on him.
Sky Germany say the Bundesliga champions could make a late move for him, with additional information from Bild stating that he would then immediately be loaned out to Werder Bremen for the season.
Gnabry’s Arsenal contract expires at the end of the season, so they may feel it is worth cashing in on him while they can, particularly with his path to the first-team blocked by a host of big-name attacking midfielders.
