Top seed Serena Williams has advanced to her 10th straight Wimbledon semifinals. She beat Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets, to advance to the last four.
Williams hit 11 aces to make it into the next stage, shortly after her sister, Venus, qualified for the same round.
Venus was a winner over Yaroslava Shvedova, and Serena took out No. 21 seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, 6-4, 6-4.
“I’m excited to have been able to win that one and get through it,” the 34-year-old said. “It felt really good.”
