Tottenham hotspur  have turned down a bid from Arsenal for striker Clinton Njie, says L’Equipe.

The Cameroon international is instead expected to join Ligue 1 side Marseille on a season-long loan.

Njie  revealed earlier this year that he turned down Arsenal  to move to White Hart Lane last summer in an £8.3million deal from Lyon.

However, the Cameroonian struggled during his first season under Mauricio Pochettino and he faces falling further behind in the pecking order with the imminent arrival of Georges-Kévin Nkoudou.

Spurs have agreed to loan Njie to Marseille with an option to buy at the end of the season, but, according to L’Equipe, Arsenal made a late dash to sign the 22-year-old from under the noses of the Ligue 1 giants.
