The South African President, Jacob Zuma, was seen in a series of snapshots kissing a young lady who called him her “blesser”. ‘Blesser’ is South African for “Sugar Daddy”.

The photographs were posted on a Facebook account by one 19-year-old woman called Lindokuhle Dlamini, Wednesday, (July, 13).

The account which has since been deleted captioned the images which went viral on social media, “He is not just a blesser, we are in love and I am grateful for all that he has done for me, much love. Xo xo.”

On the 5th of January, she had written, “I’m so glad that I got to meet the person that most people look up to… I know that minority doesn’t like him but he has taken me as his daughter.

“I thank you for all the love you have given me throughout the years, I love you baba Msholozi <3 you are the man of your words and I appreciate you 🙂 I have found a second dad in you :)”

Zuma’s son, Edward Zuma has refuted claims Dlamini was his father’s mistress, rather, he said she was his sister and Zuma Sr was her father.

“That is my sister. What is wrong with my father kissing his daughter? There is nothing wrong with that photograph,” Edward Zuma queried.

source said, “When asked if the young woman was a blood relation, Zuma was emphatic that the young woman was his “sister”. Zuma said the Facebook account where the picture collage of Zuma and the young woman was published, was indeed a fake one, with a fake name and wrong age for the woman pictured on the photo.”

Jacob Zuma had spoken against the wave of “blessers” gaining popularity in the country while speaking at the Youth Day festivities, Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

Zuma said at the time, “We need to protect our youth, especially young women and girls, from abuse and exploitation through new shocking phenomena in our country such as the so-called sex parties or sex stokvels known as the mavuso. The long-term impact on their lives, and also on our successful fight against HIV and Aids is too ghastly to contemplate.”

Economic Freedom Fighters deputy president and Zuma opposer, Floyd Shivambu shared a series of tweets stating that regardless what the presidency is saying, the truth will come out one day and the real identity of the blesser and the blessee will be revealed.

Which begs the question, why go to the extent of deleting the Facebook page? Plus, who calls their father or grandfather “sugardaddy”?
