Miss South Africa 2017 has chosen media personalities Maps Maponyane and Bridget Masinga as part of its judges.
The TV and Radio presenters are part of the judges for the regional competition which is scheduled for the next six weeks in South Africa.
Asides from both newly-selected judges, there will be appearances of guest judges at the different venues of the pageantry.
Masinga, once a Miss SA competitor herself where she became the second-runner up.
“I think my journey with Miss South Africa, which began in 2002 when I was second runner-up and then subsequently as one of the hosts on The Road to Miss South Africa, puts me in the perfect position to have intimate knowledge of the expectations versus the realities of the title,” Masinga said.
Masinga is a radio presenter and producer of Jacaranda FM’s weekday mid-morning show, The Workzone with Bridget Masinga.
Maps Maponyane who is a TV presenter, actor and model – among other things – is considered one of the most fashionable men in South Africa.
The Miss South Africa 2017 is slated for the end of March 2017 at Sun City where the winner will be crowned on a live telecast.
According to details provided by the pageantry’s official site, it stated that the winner of Miss South Africa 2017 will receive R1-million in cash from sponsors Sun International and Cell C as well as a bouquet of prizes which include, the prize money of R1-million, a car, and an international holiday.
The total worth of the winners’s package is estimated to exceed R2-million.
The finalists for 2017 will each receive a R25-000 cash prize.
