Serena Williams Might Retire With Venus Williams – Legendary tennis player Serena Williams has revealed she could retire whenever sister Venus decides to.
Serena recently won her 22nd Grand Slam of her career and is two shy of the 24 Grand Slams record held by Margaret Court, but revealed she might not be able to play again once Venus calls time.
“It would be hard to carry on playing if she retired,” 34-year old Serena said of Venus, 36. “Who knows? But she is definitely my backbone on this journey we have been on for a really long time. Hopefully she won’t be retiring soon.
“It would be so weird going to Grand Slam tournaments and not seeing her around, but I know she absolutely loves being out here and sometimes is like, ‘Wow, I really, really love it’.”
Serena also opened up on her failure to hold all four Grand Slam titles at the same time after losing at the US Open last year. She added: “It wasn’t easy, I was going for something really historic and it didn’t quite work out, but what really was impressive was being able to come back and be so consistent time in and time out.
