Rick Ross seeks immunity from charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and kidnapping involving an employee.
Born William Leonard Roberts, 39-year-old Ross and his bodyguard cum manager Nadrian James were arrested in June last year after being accused of pistol-whipping a construction worker.
Ross said he caught the staff and his friends throwing a party at the guest house of his mansion which he had purchased from Evander Holyfield and was renovating.
Nadrain James said in court, Wednesday, (July, 13) that they never kidnapped any worker, rather a fight only began after it was discovered that the staff had invited guests over without the boss’s permission.
James said, “He asked Jonathan why he had all these people in his house. The worker apologized, saying, “Boss, I’m sorry. My bad.”
James explained he and Ross went to the guesthouse. While he stood outside, Ross entered and was startled as a fight broke out with the two workers, Leo Caceres and Jonathan Zamudio.
“It was a fight. Fists going, fists swinging. We both are,” James said.
The workers Caceres and Zamudio both claim they were kidnapped, and forced into the guest house before getting pistol-whipped and beat-up by Ross and James.
While Rick Ross is facing a three-count charge of aggravated assault, kidnapping and aggravated battery, James’s charges include kidnapping and aggravated battery charges.
Although he was indicted in March this year, Rozay is now set to receive a mini-trial to ascertain if he really acted on self-defense as he is claiming.
It is unknown if his immunity request will be granted.
