Nacho is reconsidering his future at Real Madrid amid interest from Roma, reports Marca.
Real Madrid want to keep hold of the defender, although the player knows that he is still likely to be considered as the club’s fourth-choice centre-back if he stays put.
Persistent interest from Roma, who enquired about him back in January, has made the 26-year-old rethink his future.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Roma coach Luciano Spalletti said: “We are talking with him (Nacho).”
Nacho’s agent could soon travel to the Italian capital to speak to Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini. If the defender leaves the Bernabeu, it is expected to be on loan with a future option to buy.
Nacho arrived at Real Madrid at the age of 11 so it’s a really tough decision for him to leave his house. However, Nacho hasn’t had so many opportunities at Los Blancos, being the fourth defender for Rafa Benítez or Zinedine Zidane. The versatile player only appeared in 15 games last season, far from being important in the squad.
The move is reportedly set to be on loan with option to buy for €11m.
