Juventus are poised to complete the signing of Medhi Benatia after agreeing a deal for the Bayern Munich defender.
Benatia struggled to cement a regular starting place at the Allianz Arena under Pep Guardiola following his €26m switch from Roma in 2014, and has now opted to return to Serie A.
The completion of the deal could be an indication that Juve are preparing for life without Leonardo Bonucci, who is being chased by Manchester City.
Benatia’s stay in Germany has been less than stellar. He arrived at the German giants after an outstanding final season at Roma where he was arguably the best defender Serie A had to offer. He returns to Italy’s top flight, most certainly on loan with an option to buy.
