Annual international day in honour of Nelson Mandela, celebrated each year on the date of his birthday, July 18, is upon us again!

Mandela Day, serves as a day to celebrate the legacy of late anti-apartheid activist, and also former President of South Africa (10 May 1994 – 14 June 1999), Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela (18 July 1918 – 5 December 2013).

Mandela Day was declared by the United Nations in November, 2009, to be celebrated each year on the 18th of July.
