John Dumelo is laying his support for Sarkodie in the rap beef between the latter and fellow artiste M.anifest.
The award-winning actor disclosed to Bola Ray on Starr Chat that he felt the beef was humorous and engaging for the Ghana music industry.
“It’s rare to find someone [Sarkodie] rapping in the local language and going international.” John Dumelo said. “It will be hard to take sides. Beef is needed.”
Dumelo revealed Sarkodie’s style easily courts international interest although most of his songs are in the local language.
According to GhanaWeb, Sarkodie and M.anifest have been engaged in a battle of ‘who is better’ which has caused lyrical shots to be fired against each other.
This has resulted in their drama going viral on social media, thereby causing other rappers in the country to pitch tents with one or the other.
Other artistes who have been burnt by the beef include EL, Shatta Wale, Prodigal of VVIP and Bardman Family CEO Tinny who expressed displeasure after another rapper Kofi Duah said something about him which he found unsettling.
Ghanaian rap artistes beefing each other is norm and fans of either party support their rap gods till the end. The verdict is still out on how long Sarkodie and M.anifest’s beef will last.
