Michy Batshuayi has completed the move from Marseille to Chelsea. With the Belgium international signing a five-year deal.
The Belgium striker is Conte’s first signing, with Chelsea paying €40 million for his signature. He will report for preseason, after a short break due to international duties with Belgium in France.
Batshuayi snubbed clubs like Juventus, Tottenham, West Ham and Crystal Palace. He scored 17 goals in 36 appearances for Marseille in the Ligue 1 last season.
“I am delighted to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe and embark on the next chapter in my career,” he said upon his arrival.
“I hope I can help Chelsea win many trophies during my time at Stamford Bridge.
“Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois have told me many good things about the club, and with Antonio Conte coming in it’s an exciting time to become a Chelsea player.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for myself and my family, I am looking forward to playing in the Premier League next season.”
