The United States’ Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, alongside the three Nigerian lawmakers accused of sexual misconduct, have been summoned by the House of Representatives joint committee on Ethics and Privileges and Foreign Affairs.
The foursome are to appear before the committee on July 14, over the allegations brought by the envoy that the three Nigerian Lawmakers engaged in illicit activities while in the US.
The lawmakers, Samuel Ikon (PDP, Akwa Ibom), Mohammed Gololo (APC, Bauchi) and Mark Gbillah (APC, Benue) were said to have solicited sex while in Cleveland hotel during a visit to the US for the International Visitor Leadership Program.
While one of the lawmakers was accused of grabbing a hotel attendant and soliciting for sex, the other two were said to have asked a hotel attendant to procure prostitutes for them.
Meanwhile, the visas of the three lawmakers have since been terminated.
