Watford have signed defender Pervis Estupinan on loan, according to reports in Ecuador.
The 18-year-old’s former club, Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito, announced on Tuesday that they had reached an agreement with Udinese.
The Italian club have bought 50 per cent of the Ecuadorian and can complete a deal over the next two years if they wish.
However, Udinese have instantly loaned the left-back out to Watford and an announcement is expected in the coming days.
“A few days ago we received an offer from Udinese for Pervis Estupinan. And we have reached a potential agreement,” Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito president Esteban Paz told CRE.com.
“The Italian club will have 50 percent and an option to buy the other 50 percent over the next two years.”
Following the president’s announcement, Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito tweeted a picture of Estupinan which revealed he would be off to Watford on loan after joining Udinese.
The tweet said: “Pervis will be loaned to Watford, the English team belonging to the same group that owns Udinese.”
