Vin Diesel gave a hint of what to expect in the new Fast and Furious 8 franchise and Charlize Theron is one of them.
48-year old Diesel shared the image of him and his Furious 8 buddies with the vague hashtag #F8.
The photograph had Vin’s arms wrapped around two of his female co-stars, Michelle Rodriguez, 37, who is a recurring character and Charlize Theron, 40, the newbie to the franchise.
The cast is confirmed to include Vin, Michelle, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, Chris Ludacris Bridges, Elsa Pataky, Nathalie Emmanuel and Lucas Black, among others.
Also joining the Furious league is another newcomer, Scott Eastwood, son of Clint Eastwood.
The Fast & Furious movie franchise will celebrate its 15th anniversary this year and already looks like its ready to celebrate its 20 year-mark as well judging by the release dates for three more installments.
Fast and Furious 8 will premiere in U.S. theaters on April 17th, 2017, followed by Fast and Furious 9 on April 19th, 2019, and Fast and Furious 10 on April 2nd, 2021.
Furious 8 is to be the first film in a new trilogy which will end the Fast And Furious franchise, bringing the total number of films to 10.
Charlize Theron is cast to play the villainous character Cipher, who is a weapons expert.
The South African beauty said about how character as a villain, ‘I’m coming in to mess that s*** up! I feel like that gang has got the driving down. Like, they have a good thing going. I don’t know if I need to step in in that department.’
Fast and Furious 8 is directed by the same guy who pulled the directorial decisions in Straight Outta Compton, F. Gary Gray.
Gray worked with Theron on the 2003 remake of The Italian Job.
I look forward to this, just as I’m sure every Fast and Furious lover will too. Can’t wait to see what Charlize Theron serves up.
