Kym Marsh is paranoid as footage depicting her performing a sexual act with an unrecognizable man is about to be sold to the media or anyone with £30,000 (N8,574,261).
Marsh, 40, who is famous for her role in ITV’s Coronation Street was also a presenter on the 2008 X Factor Finale.
Police are presently investigating the alleged sex tape after Marsh reported that someone was trying to sell the 57-second clip to The Sun or the highest bidder.
Representatives of the Coronation Street star said, “Kym is understandably horrified at the claims made in today’s newspaper. We trust that the Sun newspaper will co-operate fully in identifying the individual behind this plot so that they can be held to account.”
Marsh is afraid a media organisation will buy the tape and release it for all to see.
A source told the newspaper: ‘The news has left her reeling. She feels furious, humiliated, and very vulnerable.’
The seller allegedly met reporters Laura Armstrong and James Beal and played them a 57-second video on a mobile phone which they were told is ‘very explicit’ while offering to sell the tape to them.
Amstrong and Beal both writers for The Sun rejected the offer.
