Argentina manager, Gerardo Martino has given an update on Messi’s return from injury.
Following their 2-1 win over Chile, Martino revealed the Barcelona man will be ready to play in four days.
The Albiceleste saw off Chile in their first Copa America Centenario match, without Messi. And he could be rested against Panama.
“The expectation is that in four days Messi is in a position to play,” Martino told reporters.
Meanwhile, the 53-year-old was full of praise for his team’s performance against Chile as goals from Angel Di Maria and Ever Banega earned Argentina all three points.
“I liked the 90 minutes we played. We deserved to win,” Martino said.
“We must continue to overcome any absences in our team. The team knew how to handle different aspects of the game and we were fair winners.”
