Police Arrest Managers Of Elegushi Beach – Two managers of the popular Elegushi beach in Lagos over the death of two person at the beach.
The two persons involved were Adesola Ogunmefun and Funmi Odusina, postgraduate students of the University of Lagos. The two ladies were caught up by strong waves at the beach, along with a third person named Bolu.
Ogunmefun reportedly died on the spot, while Odusina and Bolu still showed signs of life. Private hospitals in the area had reportedly rejected the two girls, and Odusina gave up the ghost on the way to the Lagos Island General Hospital. Bolu however survived the incident.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos said in a statement: “The command has arrested two managers of the beach and they are being interrogated. We don’t want to release their names now so as not to infringe on their human rights. As soon as we ascertain their culpability, their names will be made public. We hope to arrest more persons and we will visit the scene of the crime to know what transpired.”
