It’s all over! England have been eliminated by the lowest ranked team still left in Euro 2016 in the last-16.
Goals from Ragnar Sigurdsson and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson sealed one of the most embarrassing results in English football history, as the Three Lions went down 2-1 to Iceland.
Roy Hodgson’s men appeared in line for a routine win when Wayne Rooney converted from the spot just four minutes in.
But Sigurdsson hit back immediately as he turned in from a long throw, and Sigthorsson sent the tiny nation into ecstasy when he grabbed an 18th minute lead England were incapable of overturning.
Gary Cahill and Chris Smalling both stood off as Gylfi Sigurdsson, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Sigthorsson exchanged passes in the front of the area.
Sigthorsson moved in between them both, took aim with his right foot and watched the ball sneak into the bottom corner.
But it won’t be easy; Iceland have shocked more than a few people to make it through their group and into the knockout phase.
For Roy Hodgson, it was a desperate and ignominious way to end his four years as England manager.
