Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has on Monday accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of freezing his personal account at Zenith Bank.
The governor raised the alarm on his Twitter handle, even as he blamed President Muhammadu Buhari for the restriction on his account.

“My personal Account at Zenith Bank has been frozen courtesy of Buhari led APC tyrannical government.”
A bank source, who pleaded not to be mentioned in print, disclosed that Fayose was apparently shocked when he was told that his account was allegedly frozen on the order of the anti-graft agency.
Vanguard quoted the governor as saying, that he had earlier issued a counter-cheque to make withdrawal and was rejected by the bank located at Onigari, GRA in Ado Ekiti, describing the action as criminal and illegal.
Attempts to reach to the spokesman of the anti-graft agency, Wilson Uwujaren, for confirmation to the claim, proved abortive.
Fayose had earlier raised an alarm that the federal government had concluded the alleged plans to use the anti-graft agency to destabilise Ekiti with the aim of impeaching him.
