Beans have been mentioned on Eat Right Africa a couple of times because they are full of vitamins, minerals and proteins. They are gluten free, high in fiber, and low in fat, So  flexible and can be added to a lot of meals.


Eating up to five servings of beans weekly can drastically help you lower cholesterol and high blood pressure. Because they digest slowly, they help lower blood sugar and are a part of anti-cancer diets too.

If you’d like to try something challenging, take your body on a bean diet, replace meals containing meat with meals containing beans. Have a serving of beans once a day and record your observations for 30 days.
