#CopaAmerica2016: Chile Beat Colombia 2-0 To Set Up Repeat Of Last Year’s Final Against Argentina

share on:

Chile can claim back-to-back Copa America titles, after sealing a spot in the finals, following a 2-0 win over Colombia.

The current holders were 2-0 up in the 11th minutes, thanks to strikes from Aranguiz and Feunzalida.

Juan Cuadrado was unfortunate to have assisted the first goal, after heading down a cross for Aranguiz. And Fuenzalida latched on to a Sanchez shot that came off the post.

There was a delay of over two hours, due to a severe storm making its way to the Soldier Field. Which left wet patches on the field after the skies cleared.

Colombia worked hard to reduce the deficit but was dealt a huge blow when Carlos Sanchez received a second yellow card in the 57th minute.

Chile held on to the win to seal a spot in the final against Argentina – a rematch of the 2015 decider in which the former came out a winner after a penalty shootout.
