Except for any last minute changes in plan, President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to return back to the country on Thursday, June 16, from London, United Kingdom.
Buhari had last week Monday embarked on a 10-day trip to London for medical treatment.
The Presidency, had in a statement, stated that Buhari would during the trip to the United Kingdom, see an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist for a persistent ear infection.
The 10-day holiday ended on Wednesday.
A source within the Presidency revealed to The Punch Newspapers that all is set to receive the President, who will be back in the country today.
“He is expected back on Thursday (today). We are in touch with him. As of today (Wednesday), we have not been told that there is any change in arrangement,” the source said.
It would be recalled on Monday, the Presidency had released photographs of the visit of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Most Revd, Justin Welby, to Buhari in London.
In the meantime, a rumour had filtered in last week that the president may extend his trip because he also has to attend to “a terrible cough that has persisted longer than the ear infection.”
The rumour had made the rounds on the same day the Vice President, Commonwealth Medical Association, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, accused Buhari of reneging on a promise to end “medical tourism” by seeking treatment in the UK.
