An aide of Nigeria’s former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has dismissed rumours that he was dead.
According to the aid, who preferred not to be mentioned in print, Babangida is alive and was in Germany for a routine medical check-up.
The source, who averred that he is not dead as rumoured by some sections of the media, stated that the former Military President is expected in Nigeria today (Tuesday) from Germany where he went for treatment.
He said: “I do not know where these rumours are coming from.
“It is false.
“This is inhuman.
“We should pray for him, wish him well and not dead.
“We are expecting him in Nigeria any moment from today because he has been in Germany for treatment.”
It was gathered that Babangida is recovering after a corrective surgery recently as a result of radiculopathy disease.
TheEagleOnline also gathered that everything seemed normal in Minna, Niger state despite the fact that the rumour had gone viral.
