#VGMA2016: Ghana Music Awards Full Winners List: EL, Bisa Kdei Are The Biggest Winners

Glitz, glamour and of course music were the highlights of the 17th Edition of the Vodafone 2016 Ghana Music Awards, #VGMA2016.

#VGMA2016 was held on Saturday night, (May, 6), at the Accra International Conference Centre – hosted by Chris Attoh and Naa Ashorkor.

The awards show recognizes Ghanaian musicians for their work.

Biggest winners of the night were EL (who was also announced on the night as a signee under Wizkid’s Starboy Worldwide) who won in six categories including Artist of the year. Next in line was Bisa Kdei who bagged four awards plus the Highlife artist of the year trophy.

Stonebwoy took the Reggae dancehall song of the year for his song, Go Higher while Sarkodie’s Hand to Mouth bagged Best Hip-hop song of the year.

Nigeria’s Wizkid picked up the coveted African artist of the year.

Performances for the night included, Obour and AB, Stonebwoy, Adomaa, winner of Unsung Artiste of the Year and Wizkid amongst others.

Attendees included Ehiz, Nikki Samonas, Moet Abebe, Efya, Eliad Shebib, and N.O.B.

Sound Engineer of the Year – Kaywa

Lifetime Achievement Award – AB Crentsil

Song writer of the year – Kofi Kinaata

Gospel song of the year – Nicolas Omani Achaempong

Highlife Song of the year – Mansa (Bisa Kdei)

Reggae Dancehall Song of the Year – Go Higher (Stonewoy

HipHop song of the year – Hand to mouth (Sarkodie)

Hip life song of the year – Yewo Kurom (Atom)

Afropop Song of the year – Minaa bo po (EL)

Gospel Artiste of the year – SP Kofi Sarpong

Highlife Artiste of the Year– Bisa Kdei

Hiplife/HipHop Artiste of the year – EL

Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the year – Stonebwoy

Best female vocalist of the year – MzVee

Best Male Vocalist of the year – Pat Thomas

Best Rapper of the year– Sarkodie

Music Video of the year- EL (Shelele)

Record of the year- Sarkodie ft. Pat Thomas (Bra)

Best New Artiste of the year- Kofi Kinaata

Vodafone Most popular popular song of the year- Mansa (Bisa Kdei)
