Tina Knowles, Beyonce’s Mother, Reveals The Truth Behind ‘Lemonade’

Tina Knowles – Lawson has shed light on the truth behind Beyonce’s latest art creation, ‘Lemonade’.

Since the debut of Beyonce’s visual album ‘Lemonade‘ two weeks past, there has been speculations, debates and crossfires.

Everyone including the beyhive have been dissecting each word, each move of the Carters seeing as Mrs Carter revealed her husband’s infidelity with the colloquial Becky with the good hair term.

Who better to quench our curiosity than the mother of the singer, Tina Knowles?

Tina had an exclusive interview with ABC13 where she shared her thoughts on her daughter’s highly vignetted work.

Emphasizing on the betrayal of trust which Bey referred to in one of the songs, Tina said:

People make it all about the cheating and betrayal and, yes, that’s a part of it because that is something you have to heal from. If you really listen to the poetry it is one of hope and redemption and hopefully that can be healing for people.

It could be about anyone’s marriage. I think that everybody at one time or another has been betrayed and lied to and it’s about the pain–and it’s about the healing process–and it’s about how do you get past that and move on.

Tina Knowles is no stranger to infidelity as her marriage to Beyonce’s father finally ended in 2011 after he allegedly cheated on her.

Tina who is presently happily married to actor Richard Lawson said her children helped build her up again after the divorce.

She recalled, “I remember my first little pity party and I called them crying and you know, they all came. We had a slumber party, we watched old movies all night and ate ice cream–it was very healing”.

Tina Knowles-Lawson ended with, “My children are my rock and they are. Its just been the best gift God could have given me.”

There you have it, Lemonade wasn’t about Jay-Z being unfaithful, it’s about the struggle every woman who has ever been cheated on has to go through.
