Nigerian Army Retires 14 Generals

The Nigerian Army has announced the retirements of 14 Generals of the Army Medical Corps.

Speaking at the parade ground of the 68 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Yaba, Lagos, during the pull-out parade in honour of the retired generals, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Tukur Buratai, lauded their exceptional virtues to address medical challenges facing the Army.

Speaking on behalf of Buratai, the General Officer Commanding, GOC, 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major Gen Henry Edet, said “what they have contributed positively to the Nigerian Army will never be forgotten.”

Buratai also urged the officers and soldiers to dedicate themselves to serving the nation by going the extra mile when the need arises.

The retired officers were one full General, five Major-Generals and eight Brigadier Generals.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Corps Commander, Medical, Major Gen. A. O. Amusu, stated that the Army have well qualified, but limited, number of officers to boost its medical corps.
