New Date Set For Manchester United Vs AFC Bournemouth – The Premier League has set a new date for the final league fixture of the season between Manchester United and AFC Bournemouth.
The match, which was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday at 3pm, was cancelled after a suspect package was discovered in the stands. The stands were evacuated, and eventually the game was cancelled.
A statement by the league reads: “We can confirm that today’s abandoned fixture between Manchester United and AFC Bournemouth will be played on Tuesday 17 May at 8pm. We would like to thank Manchester United’s staff, the police and other emergency services for all their efforts today as well as rearranging the match for this coming Tuesday.”
“Both Manchester United and AFC Bournemouth’s management has been extremely helpful in reaching a swift resolution, which is the best possible given today’s events. The clubs will make their own announcements regarding ticketing arrangements.”
The match is of no consequence except United can record a 19-0 win over Bournemouth, which will then give them the 4th Champions League spot over noisy neighbours Manchester City.
