Mats Hummels Slams Borussia Dortmund – Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has hit out at the club over a statement concerning his future.
Hummels has recently been the subject of interest from Bayern Munich, and in a statement, Dortmund claimed that Hummels had told the club of his desire to leave.
The statement read: “Defender Mats Hummels of Borussia Dortmund has communicated his desire to leave the club in the summer and wants to join the league rivals Bayern Munich next season.
“Borussia Dortmund’s Board has subsequently decided to make such a change depending on whether Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund can agree a satisfactory fee. So far, Bayern Munich has not made an offer.
“As a precaution, it is pointed out that with Mats Hummels – as at present with all other players from Borussia Dortmund – no exit clause has been agreed and the player is logically tied to Borussia Dortmund until June 30, 2017.”
Hummels was unhappy with the statement, and told the club’s fans that “everything is possible and nothing is decided yet.” He added: “This sh***y statement has made a misleading expression. I have no idea why they had to do it.’
