Hamza Bin Laden, the son and heir apparent to Al-Qaeda has released an audio message urging the various warring factions in Syria to unite and fight the West. He also claimed that the fight will pave the way to “liberating Palestine”.
The 20 something year-old stated in the audio recording that Syria was the “best battlefield” leading to “liberating Al-Quds”. Al-Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem.
Hamza Bin Laden wasn’t among those killed when the Central Intelligence Agency raided the Pakistan compound which housed the world’s most-wanted terrorist in 2011.
It’s believed he went into hiding in order to continue with his father’s bloody legacy.
In the audio recording, Hamza said:
The Islamic umma (nation) should focus on jihad in Al-Sham (Syria) … and unite the ranks of mujahedeen there.
There is no longer an excuse for those who insist on division and disputes now that the whole world has mobilized against Muslims.
The road to liberating Palestine is today much shorter compared to before the blessed Syrian revolution.
Prior to Hamza’s message, Al-Qaeda front-man and late Osama Bin Laden’s right-hand, Ayman al-Zawahiri also beckoned on militants in Syria to unit.
Although he has made plain his rejection of rival faction ISIS whose leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi declared an Islamic caliphate across all the territories it seized in Syria and Iraq in 2014.
The matter of unity today is one of life and death. Either you unite to live as Muslims with dignity, or you bicker and separate and so are eaten one by one.
Rita Katz, director of Site, a terror intelligence group also shared a series of tweets which have been removed. It stated that “Hamza Bin Laden declared war from Kabul, Gaza and Baghdad, to Washington, London, Paris and Tel-Aviv” and urged Al-Qaeda militants with, ‘This is your duty’.
Katz also added that Hamza Bin Laden called for ‘lone wolf attacks in the US and the West’ with Jewish Americans as targets because under the young Bin Laden’s leadership Al-Qaeda would ‘renew the popularity of AQ by reviving the brand of ‘AQ = Bin Laden’.
Al-Qaeda has an affiliate in Syria called Al-Nusra Front which is a rival of ISIS. ISIS on the other hand is an Al-Qaeda offshoot.
