Beyonce isn’t slowing down on her accomplishments, not for anyone, not even the late ‘Purple Rain’ singer, Prince.
Her album, Lemonade knocked off Prince’s The Very Best Of from the number one spot on the UK Official Charts Top Five Albums, placing it at number two while ‘Ultimate’ took number three, and ‘Purple Rain’ stood strong at number four.
Since Prince’s passing at 57, his album solidly held the Top 5 positions on the UK Official Charts Top Five Albums until Beyonce dethroned him with Lemonade on number one.
The move prevented the late singer from earning his sixth UK number one album on the UK Official Charts.
Sia’s album ‘This Is Acting’ took the fifth spot while Adele’s album ‘25′ was on number six.
Lemonade is Beyonce’s third album to take the number 1 spot on the UK Official Charts. Her debut album ‘Dangerously In Love’ and her fourth album ‘4′ have all taken the Number 1 spot in the past.
In the singles Top 100 charts, Prince also has six songs which includes ‘Purple Rain’ at number six and ‘When Doves Cry’ at twenty-six.
Official Charts Company UK confirmed fourteen of Prince’s albums are in the UK Top 100 album charts.
