Joseph Yobo Grabs Political Appointment In Rivers State – Former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo has been handed a political appointment in Rivers state.
According to reports, Yobo has been named Senior Special Assistant on Sports Development to the state governor, Nyesom Wike.
The appointment comes just after the former Everton defender and his wife, Adaeze were conferred with honorary chieftaincy titles in his home town of Ogoni land. King GNK Gininwa of Ogoniland named Yobo Mene Aborlo 1 of Ogoniland, while his wife Adaeze was named Waamene Aborlo 1 of Ogoni land.
Yobo, who made 101 appearances for Nigeria over the course of his career, retired after a testimonial match in his honor played at the Port Harcourt stadium, with African legends like Samuel Eto’o and Jay Jay Okocha coming together to celebrate him.
