Spanish Football expert, Guillem Balague has told SSN he thinks Guardiola wants five new players when he joins Manchester City
“Some say he should have even more given the Manchester City we’ve seen in the last few months is one that perhaps doesn’t have soul, belief or direction. Whatever it is there’s something lacking there and they need recycling.
“Perhaps five will be enough for this first season. He’ll have to see what he has but I’ve got the impression he’ll be looking for a goalkeeper to battle with Joe Hart and centre-backs of course.
“City wanted Diego Godin to come over last summer but he renewed his contract with Atletico. He has a release clause of €60m so I wonder if City will spend money on that.
“Also, Aymeric Laporte I think is coming to City. There will be money spent on midfielders, wingers and a goalscorer. There are positions that need to be filled all over the pitch for the team to become a Pep Guardiola team.”
