George Zimmerman Auctioning Gun – After fatally shooting Trayvon Martin in 2012, George Zimmerman is putting the gun up for auction.
Zimmerman is going bankrupt, and put the firearm up for auction online. “I am honored and humbled to announce the sale of an American Firearm Icon,” he wrote on the gun.
“The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012 … Many have expressed interest in owning and displaying the firearm including The Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. This is a piece of American History,” Zimmerman continued.
The gun was previously with the US Department of Justice, who had held on to the gun after Zimmerman was shockingly acquitted of second-degree murder and manslaughter of Martin.
“They’re not going to be bidding on it, so I couldn’t care less about them,” Zimmerman said in response to the critics of his decision to put the gun on sale. “I’m a free American. I can do what I like with my possessions.”
