Rescued Chibok school girl, Amina Ali (whose name is still under debate), was airlifted by Nigeria Air Force from Damboa to Maiduguri. She was with her baby and alleged husband, Mohammed Hayatu.
First they were medically examined at the Air Force medical facility and after it was confirmed that they were stable, Amina was taken to Operation LAFIYA DOLE headquarters for more investigation.
Subsequently, she and her baby were handed over to Honourable Kashim Shetima, the Borno State Governor, at the Government house, Maiduguri in a brief ceremony.
Amina will be taken to Abuja today, 19th May, along with her parents to meet with the president.
Mohammed Hayatu, her ‘husband’ is being interrogated in line with Operation LAFIYA DOLE as regards to the amnesty rules of engagements for Boko Haram repentant terrorists who surrender willingly. This could likely mean that Mohammed will walk free and may continue with Amina as his wife.
