According to authorities in Mexico, Olympiakos striker and Mexico international Alan Pulido has been rescued from his kidnappers.
The 25-year-old was kidnapped in Tamaulipas, at gunpoint having attended a party with his girlfriend, who was reportedly kidnapped as well. But was later released by the masked men.
It also confirmed that the Olympiakos man, who was part of Mexico’s 2014 World Cup squad, was being medically assessed.
Tamaulipas has a history of kidnappings and violence related to the ongoing battle for control between drug cartels and the Mexican government.
Pulido signed for Olympiakos from Levadiakos in 2015, scoring five times in eight appearances for the Greek giants.
