40 Wounded As Troops Kill 29 Taliban Militants In Afghan

At least 29 Taliban Militants have been slaughtered with over 40 wounded during military operations conducted by Afghan security forces in 17 of the country’s 34 provinces within last 24 hours, the Afghan Defense Ministry said on Friday in Kabul.

This is just as the ministry confirmed in a statement that five suspected militants were detained in the raids.

“The Afghan army launched the raids in close coordination with police and personnel of national intelligence agency. The joint forces also seized weapons and ammunition besides defusing several landmines planted recently by the militants,” the statement said.
