Warriors Even Series With Thunder – The Golden State Warriors have evened up the score in the Western Conference Finals, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 118 – 91.
The Thunder had earned a surprise win in the first game, and the Thunder came out looking to win yet another game on the road, with Kevin Durant coming out smoking hot. The Warriors were however not ready to let that happen, with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green all getting off to good starts.
The Warriors entered the half time with an 8-point lead, and in the third quarter, Steph Curry came out and did what Steph Curry does. In the space of 1 minute and 58 seconds, Curry made 15 points and shut the Thunder down, scoring 17 in the quarter. “Business as usual,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “This is what he does.”
The Splash Brothers combined 43 points as the Warriors routed the Thunder, with last year’s Finals MVP Andre Igoudala adding 14 points, including a very wild circus shot.
“We didn’t have to force anything,” Curry said, “so that was our brand of basketball.” Curry, who banged up an elbow after he jumped into the crowd to catch a lose ball said, “It looks like it has a tennis ball on top of it, but it doesn’t affect range of motion or anything. It’s just some pain, so I’ll be all right.”
