The three officials of the Osun State Government who were recently kidnapped have been released by their captors.

The Permanent Secretary of Osun State Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Adebimpe Ogunlumade, was abducted by gunmen in Kogi State alongside her driver, Oladapo Ajani, and a director from the ministry, Tajudeen Badejoko on Friday, April 23.

It was gathered that the three civil servants, who regained their freedom on Sunday evening, were still with security operatives in Kogi State and that they might not return to Osogbo, the Osun State capital until Monday.

The Head of Service in Osun, Sunday Owoeye, in a statement on Sunday, said:

“Arrangements are now being made to convey them to Osogbo within the shortest possible time by security agents with a view to re-uniting them with their families and relations.”

Meanwhile, the statement did not provide details of how they regained their freedom.
