The 5th season had ended with Snow’s death at the hands of his fellow brothers of the Night’s Watch, but a season 6 poster of Snow had prompted fans to speculate that he may have survived.

However, at the premiere of the show’s sixth season, Kit Harrington, who plays Snow in the series, was absent, and the cast members who were present confirmed his death.

“Listen, my only reply is the man’s had about 25 knives in his chest – how much steel does he need to have in his body to be confirmed dead? He’s dead, dead as a doornail,” Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos Seaworth, said.

“It’s so sad. He’s gone, gone … Such a shame. Such a nice young man,” added Iwan Rheon, who plays Ramsay Bolton.
