Lyon coach Bruno Genesio admits Barcelona’s interest in France striker Alexandre Lacazette is ‘flattering’.
Alexandre Lacazette, 24, is one of the most sought-after forwards on the Continent. He has scored 45 league goals for Lyon since the start of last season. Tottenham and West Ham are among his Premier League-based suitors, while Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are reportedly interested in securing his services too.
Lyon boss Genesio believes Alexandre Lacazette could thrive elsewhere, but says there is a long way to go before the forward is transferred away from his club.
“The big clubs are always interested in our players. That means that they are good and that they are having a good season. He (Lacazette) could adapt to many clubs and it is flattering that Barcelona are interested in him,” he is quoted as saying in AS. “For me, the best option is still Lyon. The players are responsible for the choices that they make in their career, but right now he has a contract with us. For that (a transfer away) all parties would have to be in agreement, and we are still very, very far from this.”
