Alicia Keys To Perform At UEFA Champions League Final – Singer Alicia Keys is set to become the first ever artist to perform at the final of the UEFA Champions League.
The venue of the final is Milan’s San Siro, and Keys is looking forward to the prospect of performing in front of an expected 80,000 crowd and a broadcast audience in over 200 countries.
“My mother’s family is from Italy, so whenever I go, I always feel the most loved,” she said. “I feel like it’s a homecoming of love in a lot of ways. This is going to be a powerful moment in history and one that represents the spirit of all the similarities we share no matter where we live and who we are,” Keys said. “I’m honoured to be a special part of such a beloved experience.”
In a statement, UEFA said the inclusion of the No One singer would “heightens even further the appeal of the match,” and goes along with UEFA’s intentions to “merge the worlds of world-class music, entertainment and sports, as well as celebrate design and fashion as a nod to the host city, Milan”.
In an interview with Billboard, Keys refused to name the new songs she’d be performing at the event. “I have to leave it as a surprise for sure ’cause that’s … part of the fun of it,” Keys said. “But you’re definitely going to hear some new music.”
