share on:

You’ll be right to say Van Persie’s Netherlands career is over after Danny Blind left him out of the squad for their upcoming friendlies.

Even though the fenerbache striker is Netherlands all time leading goalscorer, with 50 goals in 101 appearances and one of the select few of 8 to have over 100 caps.

But coach Danny Blind now prefers De Jong, Huntelaar and young Janssen after snubbing the former United man in the 3-2 win over Wales in November 2015.

Other notable absentees include Maarten Stekelenburg, Gregory van der Wiel, Bruno Martins Indi, Stefan de Vrij (injured) and Nigel de Jong.

Blind’s 28-man squad includes high-profile names such as Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder, while Manchester United duo Memphis Depay and Daley Blind have both made the cut, too.
