The troops of the 7 Division Garrison and 112 Battalion in collaboration with some Civilian JTF have slaughtered 5 Boko Haram terrorists and rescued 180 persons during mop up operations conducted at Menari, Bulamari, Zangebe, Maafa, Mijigine, Baale and Kaltaram villages in Mafa Local Government Area.
Confirming the success achieved, the spokesperson of the Army, Colonel Sani Usman, said the troops’ morale remained high as they continued the onslaught against Boko Haram.
This is just as reports are emerging that the leader of the heinous death society, Abubakar Shekau may have surrendered to the superior power of the county’s military.
An eight-minute video, which is now trending on social media and YouTube, captures Shekau holding a rifle beside one of the black flags associated with ISIS and then urging his followers to “surrender to save themselves”.
However, the video has been greeted from vantage points as analysts and viewers cued that a man who wants to surrender would not carry arms on his shoulders as was seen on the video.
