Yao Ming voted into Basketball Hall Of Fame – Former Houston Rockets center Yao Ming has been voted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
Yao was the first overall pick of the 2002 draft, and the 7-foot-6 center went on to be the first Chinese star in the NBA, pushing the game’s development in the Asian country.
Yao Ming played for only 9 years in the NBA, with his career cut short due to recurring foot and ankle issues. While in the NBA, Yao averaged 19 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.
